The Digest is edited by Julius Clement Mashamba, Senior Lecturer in Law and Ag. Deputy Principal (Training, Research and Consultancy) at the Law School of Tanzania. An Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania since 2002, Mashamba served as the Solicitor-General of the United Republic of Tanzania from April 2018 to July 2020 and was a member of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) from 2010 to 2021.
An accomplished scholar and ADR practitioner, Mashamba teaches international dispute resolution, international arbitration, ADR, civil litigation, constitutional law, human rights law, fraud examination, and child rights at universities in Tanzania and across Southern Africa. He is an accredited arbitrator and mediator on the panels of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC), the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA)/Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Tanzania International Arbitration Centre (TIAC), and the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIArb). He also serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Sports Arbitration Centre (TSAC).
